My husband is my favorite person in the world, so whenever we have a chance we always try to have a good ol’ date night. I knew this dress would be perfect for a night out. I love the drop waist. It gives the dress a fun, flirty feel and I can never say no to polka dots. I decided to dress it up this time around, but I can totally see me rocking it with some converse and a jean jacket. I’ve recently been getting into fun novelty bags. Asos has a few I’ve been eyeing like this one and this one. I thought this lip clutch from Riffraff would add a nice pop of color, and it couldn’t be cuter. Hope you all had a great weekend! Here’s to an awesome week!
What’s the saying? You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. That’s me ya’ll. I am a country girl through and through. Sure, my style is nothing that of a cowgirl, but I love some old country music. I grew up listening to Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, George Jones, and Garth Brooks, just to name a few. Me and Bobby can be riding down the road, flipping through stations, and land on a country station, and I can pick up right where the song is and whoever is singing. I just love that those songs and artists have been apart of a lot of my childhood. Speaking of the country, my favorite place in the entire world happens to be in the middle of nowhere. I’m a huge family oriented person. I love spending time with my family. I try to visit my grandparents once or every other week. They live out in a small town where they raise goats and catfish the size of my dog, Beasley. Hehe. I went the other day and one of their goats had two babies. I love baby goats! Eek! They have to be the cutest baby animal. The mama and two babies went missing, so me, my mom, and Nana went trekking through the woods, after a few falls and getting stuck with thorns we found them. It was a hilarious and fun memory I’ll keep forever. With all that being said, go call your grandparents or go visit them! I promise you it will make their day and yours!
Also, sequinned shorts!!!! Ahh!! How perfect are these going to be once the weather starts warming up? Riffraff continues to be one of my favorite boutiques. Be sure to check Monday through Friday at 10 am for new arrivals.

Please tell me you haven’t heard of Packed Party yet! Eek! I am super excited to start a new series on my blog about up and coming companies/businesses that have been giving me the heart eyes. I can’t remember how I found out about Packed Party, but I know I didn’t want anyone to know about it. Once you find a hidden gem you want to be the first person to surprise all your friends with it. That’s exactly how I felt about Packed Party. I do hope you have heard of Packed Party by now, but just in case you haven’t, I’ll give you a little info. Packed Party is a fun online company where you can send themed packages to your bestie, cousin, sister, or even yourself. Each package includes 4-5 items centered around the theme you choose. Some of my favorite packages include, Birthday Beb, Pity Party, and Yay You. I love the idea of treating your friend who may be going through a bad breakup, or maybe she has recently moved and you want to send a little miss you package her way. I LOVE giving to people and I especially love boxes of goodies. As soon as I came across Packed Party’s site I fell in love with the branding, the idea, and the themes and trinkets in each package. I asked Jordan, the creative Beb behind Packed Party, a few questions about her ever-so-fabulous company. I am so excited to see what’s all to come for Packed Party!
How did you come up with the idea of packed party?
I had made the big move from Texas to California not knowing a soul and was on the phone with my mom one evening sort of complaining about it being difficult to meet people and not loving my new job when she told me I was having a “Pity Party” and to go to bed. I listened luckily, and had a awoke from a dream that evening about being able to send myself a themed Pity Party package that sparked my concept to send yourself or friends themed party packages to throw a “party for one”. Care packages are a bit tough to assemble and require a lot of time, creativity, and can be quite expensive in some cases so I wanted to create a company that did all the work for people and allowed them to be thoughtful and kind without all the hassle.
What’s been your favorite package so far?
Hmm, that’s a tough question! It depends on my mood really. Right now coming off of Galentine’s Day I’d say our You Don’t Need Him Anyway has been a popular and fun one to get behind. It’s such a fun sort of “girl power” package and we receive such amazing feedback from women who receive it.
What’s been your favorite part of running your own company?
There are truly so many things to love about running Packed Party. I’m incredibly fortunate to wake up each day and do something I am so passionate about. I genuinely believe we have the opportunity each day to start the party for ourselves or someone else with something as small as a smile, a freakin’ pink starburst (yes, if you left one on my desk it might make my day!), or of course a navy package. Spreading kindness and confidence among women is a really powerful thing I’m incredibly passionate about, so it’s fun to see that happening through Packed Party’s packages.
Head on over to www.packedparty.com and send your bestie a little just because package or maybe just treat yo self!
You know what I love? Brunch and my gals. Put those two together and it’s just pure magic. Galentine’s day is one my favorite things about Valentine’s Day. It’s a time to get together to celebrate friendships and stuff our faces with really good breakfast foods. Me and my friend, Marla, threw one last year and we had the best time so we decided to make it an annual thing. I hope we continue to do it for the rest of our lives. How fun would it be to always get together with your oldest friends, and some new, when we are all in our 60’s?!
We had the best time eating french toast casserole, drinking mimosas, dancing to our fun playlist, laughing, and snapping some photos in front of our photo booth. I wish Bobby would let us have confetti covered floors and XO balloons as decor in our home all the time. Hehe. It was a happy mess for sure. Cheers to my girls for being so amazing and for all having a heart of gold. Here are some photos to hold us over till next year!
Congrats Lizzie! You won the giveaway! Thanks so much to everyone that entered! All your comments made my heart so happy!
I work at a super cute shoe boutique here in Macon called Head Over Heels. It’s such a fun environment. I get to look at shoes all day! What’s better than that?! I don’t think I have ever had a bigger shoe collection than I do now. Since I started working there it’s probably tripled. I literally have a mountain of shoes falling out of our closet. I really need that awesome shoe rack Kurt Russell made Goldie Hawn in Overboard. Have you seen it?! It’s my absolute favorite movie, hands down! Put it on your list for Valentine’s Day. You won’t regret it.

So one of my New Years resolutions was to take more photos with my Fuji instax camera. I have always loved taking pictures. In high school I would document everything, and now that we have iPhones I feel like that’s what I’m always snapping memories with. Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPhone photos, but there’s something so special about being able to hold my instax photos in my hand and putting them away in a cute book to share and keep forever. So I’ve been trying my best to take a photo once a day for the whole year. I missed the first four days because I couldn’t find film anywhere in Macon. I’ve been ordering it from Amazon, so cheap! So with all that being said, I’m starting a new series to document every month of 2015. January was pretty great. Some of my favorite days include girls night out, visiting my grandparents, making new friends, and pancake nights with my hubby. My least favorite, well I didn’t have any horrible days, but we did have a good friend move away. Sometimes change really sucks, but most of the time it’s really awesome, like for our friend, Brian. He got offered a good job up near Atlanta, and we had a little going-away dinner for him at Steak n Shake. Nothing says we’ll miss like greasy fries and milkshakes. I am super excited for what all February will hold! Since it is the month of love, people!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I didn’t think I would ever say this but I’m ready for some warmer weather. I am a huge fan of winter – I love the hot drinks, the layering of scarves and coats, and soup. But lately I’ve just been dreaming of warmer days filled with sunshine, shorts, and sandals. We went out to the Indian mounds this past weekend ’cause the weather was so nice. It was a little tease of some spring weather. The Indian mounds are some of the largest in the world. It’s a pretty cool historical part of our city. I hadn’t been since I was in elementary school, so it was fun to see it again and actually take in all the beautiful scenery. Later Saturday night we went out to a local bar to watch the guys play. If you’re just now reading along, my husband and his friends are in a band together called Good Night Alive. It was a packed house and they did amazing, per usual. This past weekend was a good one and I always hate to see them go, but it just means there are even better ones ahead. Hope you have a great week!
